Imo 2019: Hausa community in Imo endorses Barr. Aloysius Osuji


The Hausa community in IMO state on Tuesday, 4th December, 2018 endorsed Barr Aloysius Osuji as their candidate for IMO Governorship come 2019.

Speaking on behalf of the Hausa community, The Sarki Hausawa, HRM Auwal Baba Suleiman extolled Barr Aloysius Osuji for his humility and vision to reform IMO and particularly for not leaving the Hausa community behind.

Sarki Auwal Baba Suleiman who warmly received Barr Aloysius Osuji and his team said that the Hausa community in IMO is part of the state having being here since 1897 before the coming of the British colonial masters. He assured of the support of the entire Hausa community and prayed for Barr Osuji.

Present in the visit were the Chief Imam of IMO state, Sheikh Onyeagocha, the Secretary of the Sarki cabinet who also doubles as the Deputy Registrar of FUTO, all the Ulamas, and Representatives of the Heads of Hausas in the 27 LGAs of IMO state.

Responding, Barr Aloysius Osuji assured the Sarki and the Hausa community that he shall co-opt them into his govt and promised to have the Sarki nominate an SSA to represent them in his cabinet. He promised to assist then with basic social amenities that will improve hygiene and their standard of living.
