Egypt was the first African team to be knocked out of the world cup after losing against Uruguay and Russia before falling to a shock loss against Saudi Arabia.
And this has left Hector Cuper to come out to announce leaving his post as Egypt manager after the outcome of the results recorded at the mundial.
Before the world cup in Russia started, lot of pundits have tipped Egypt to qualify from the group because of Salah’s influence but it was not to be as he suffered an injury during the champions league final that hindered him from playing the first game against Uruguay which they lost.
And from then on, the momentum went down and Egypt lost all three games even though Mohammed Salah got two goals in two games he played in.
Egypt, appearing at their first World Cup finals for 28 years, finished bottom of Group A and failed to pick up a point.
Argentine Cuper, 62, would have been out of contract after the World Cup, but had been in negotiation with the Egypt Football Association (EFA) before the tournament started.
