Ahmed Lawan and Hope Uzodinma would have been Senate President and Deputy Senate President respectively if Saraki’s impeachment went through today


There was drama at the National Assembly complex today 7th August, 2018. Perssonel of the Department of State Service DSS had taken over the complex and prevented lawmakers from making their way in. The plan as reported by many national dailies was to impeach Senate President Bukola Saraki and his deputy Ike Ekweremadu.

However, that plan did not go well as Acting President Yemi Osinbajo got wind of the news and ordered the the sack of DSS Boss Lawal Daura. Acccording to DAILY POST, a source said Osinbajo took the decision “following events in the last 24 hours”.

They meeting was held around 12:30am at a location Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The lawmakers allegedly met with Daura and All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.

As part of the plot, Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan (Yobe North) will be picked as Senate President while Hope Uzodinma (Imo West) will emerge as his deputy.

All these is happening at atime the President Muhammadu Buhari is on leave to London.
