  • Vics June 30, 2018 at 9:52 pm

What kind of list is this? Mscheeeeeew

  • Awesome June 30, 2018 at 10:03 pm

We Can’t see their names na

  • MsTilii June 30, 2018 at 10:11 pm

Is this joke or something? Seriously BANANA ISLAND GHOST?

PERFECT PICTURE was not nominated but banana island ghost WAS? Excess Luggage? This is why I’ve said I don’t respect ANY AFRICAN MOVIE AWARD SHOW. None.

This whole nominee list is a joke. Time wasters

    Absolutely Ridiculous and a Joke.

More than 20″yrs since inception of Nollywood, and still this nonsense, Continue to to praise MEDIOCRITY, we’ll continue to tell it like it is. (Mstilii)

    • Shaz July 1, 2018 at 6:22 am

Bolanle was really good in Perfect Picture.

    • Ruby July 1, 2018 at 8:25 pm

Some producers did not submit their films… for reasons best known to them. That could be a reason for the lack of…

  • San Antonio June 30, 2018 at 10:13 pm

The AMVCA is still on? Thought it was cancelled? Nollywood plus the country it is in are just not to be taken seriously. Well congrats to Rita Dominic, the woman has been nominated almost back to back each year and winning too. Great actress! Congrats to all the nominees

  • Mrs chidukane June 30, 2018 at 10:50 pm

I don’t understand. Where is battleground and aunty shaffy and gbenga titiloye? What is this? And the alter ego movie was very horrible. When will this mago mago stop?

  • Zarah June 30, 2018 at 10:54 pm

Dakore, Adesua and Rita were not funny. I’m still gon throw in little votes for Rita & Adesua cuz they my favs lmao.. Queen Nwokoye was the only one that gave a funny performance in that category. Same for the male category, most of them weren’t funny. Also how is Dorcas nominated for best actress she barely had any lines in Banana Island Ghost, how is Chigurl not nominated. Also why is Alter Ego getting this many nominations smh. How was The Wedding Party not nominated?! Sola Sobowale?! I’m guessing mo didn’t submit it.

    • Ms jazz July 1, 2018 at 1:12 am

Please where did you watch The big fat lie that Rita is nominated for? Are you sure it’s out???‍♀️

  • Mikail July 1, 2018 at 3:15 am

Na wa oo.pls how do they come up with these nominations? So Biodun Stephen’s movies were not nominated, picture perfect, Ovy’s voice?? Ninalowo and Bisola both deserve to be nominated for their roles in those movies..but what do I know..?RME

  • Awesome July 1, 2018 at 6:26 am

Likely seriously… ALTER EGO, having all these nomination… (No be the same movie wey we watch at the Cinema and at AFRIFF abi na another version wey them submit?) How did it find itself in overall Africa movie in the first place … AMVCA has finally become a JOKE !! This whole list is so tacky!

  • Mamamia July 1, 2018 at 6:51 am

These days I put on a Nigerian movie to serve as background noise when I don’t wanna fall asleep, their unnecessary shouts jerks me out of of any sleepy situation.. All our movies are the same just different actors/actresses in a boy meets girl world. I think the whole point of civilization only made our movies look better but content 0. I miss the days of Igodo, Ijele, Isakaba, violated(this is a typical naija movie nowadays but the acting was way better then),end times, elastic limit, the movie with Liz benson and Ernest Obi being maltreated Where his head was forced into mopping water. So many movies with great story lines that reflected what we go through in naija. Now, the really good movies are only a handful the rest are just some Americana wanna be doing the same typical thing we will see in a Hollywood only very poorly done with loads of exposed chest for no reason. But then again coming from a country where our industry is called Nollywood I expect nothing less. What does Nollywood mean though? Nigeria what??? Just imagine America calling themselves Allywood??‍♀️

  • Oma July 1, 2018 at 8:09 am

I don’t understand these nominations o. Biko, where are the names of the actors? How do I know if Rita is among the nominees especially as I’ve not watched most of the movies nominated?

Oburo ka Oscars si eme nke ha?

  • Hope July 1, 2018 at 8:54 am

Guys calm down! This list isnt any different from past AMVCAs nominees list please.. and Alter Ego is no “horrible” movie.. Not a great movie in my opinion but is definitely not a bad one..besides, it had an underlying theme to it so i think it deserves all the nominations especially in a year where there dearth of good movies. 2017 wasnt all great for Nollywood tbh and 2018 is even going to be worse.

I feel the nominees list is reflective of a mediocre 2017 movie year….

  • Awesome July 1, 2018 at 9:00 am

@Oma,the fault is from BellaNaija. Don’t know wetin do the person that published this post.
I viewed the complete list on Pulse.ng

The rule of the Amvca is that you submit it for screening/nomination….Maybe the movie you wanted to see on the list wasn’t nominated. Also IROKO TV and Africa magic are competitors, therefore no Iroko tv production can make the list and picture perfect falls in that category.
Probably, it is time for an Iroko TV viewers choice award.

  • Ephi July 1, 2018 at 11:11 am

    No Picture Perfect?????
For series, what happened to “About tomorrow” and “Husbands of Lagos”??
Comedy nomination without Emem Ufot on the list. Big joke.

  • Olori July 1, 2018 at 11:28 am

I don’t think BN does any editing. That is why the comments have dwindled and the few IJGBs, Islanders and Rich Kids who used to swarm the blog as close as three years ago have all gone.

  • chinelo July 1, 2018 at 1:51 pm

wondering why wedding party, Okafors law are not on the list

    • Jemimah July 1, 2018 at 10:24 pm
