These songs will help you heal!

After women go through breakups we all have those phases to cope with the heartbreak. The best time I seem to enjoy is either the first time going to the club with my friends post-breakup jam session or the late-night drive, belting my heart out with my friends.

The music we listen to expresses our mood so when you’re ready to get sassy and showcase our sexy and single self, here are some new songs to add to the playlist.

1. Shoutout to my Ex by Little Mix

This song should be every girl’s empowering anthem after a breakup. It’s got everything from a jab about him being bad in bed, to a powerful chorus you can scream at the top of your lungs to with an uplifting message.

Another fun but slightly disappointing fact, the song is written about Zayn Malik when he broke up with Perrie Edwards, and boy did she get the last word.

2. Attention by Charlie Puth

My sisters have been jamming to this for months and after months of persuading, I’m as obsessed as the lover Charlie’s singing about in this song. This one’s for when you get your confidence back and you’re feeling fierce as hell, or you see your ex at the club and you know you’re looking DAMN good and they want you back.

So stick that peter-pointer in the air, sing along with a good head shake, take a bomb selfie afterward and use a lyric for the caption on your Instagram.

3. It Ain’t Me by Kygo ft. Selena Gomez

You can’t tell me that you haven’t sung your heart out to the chorus of this song while in your car at least once this summer. It’s about moving on from the sweet memories and making him realize you’re not in his life anymore. Your loyalty no longer belongs to him and you’re moving onto someone better and someone who actually wants to value your nurturing heart.

4. Power by Little Mix ft. Stormzy

The second installment by the latest girl group hailing from Britain, so they clearly know a good breakup song or two! It’s all about how a man might think they have the upper hand, but in reality, it’s women who have the power. It discusses knowing your own worth and feeling an unapologetic confidence.

5. I’ve Done Love by Jana Kramer

Sometimes it’s not all rainbows and butterflies of happiness during these sing alongs and we need one to powerfully belt at the top of our lungs. And this newly released beauty by Jana Kramer talks about how love can be just as destructive as drugs, from the pain of injection to the withdrawal.

I wish I wrote this song because the lyrics are genius and she sings it beautifully.

6. That’s the Way It Is by Celine Dion

I know what you’re thinking, “Celine Dion?” But every breakup playlistneeds at least one throwback track and this one just so happens to be a great one to add. It’s uplifting, positive and an all-around great song that makes you feel good.

Plus, it brings you back to 2007, a time where the only drama in your life was what the girls were experiencing onThe Hills, and you didn’t have boys hurting your heart.

7. Bye Bye Bye by N*Sync

You didn’t think I’d have a list and not include this beauty of a jam, did you? The best part about singing this with a group is that you can each take someone’s verse singing and truly kill it vocally. We all know you did it as kids, so why not do it now and relive your childhood (you’re lying if you’re denying that you did this). This anthem basically says, “GET OUT OF MY LIFE LOSER,” so sing him out of it.

So there you have it, a few feel-good songs to help get that confidence in kickstart, and to help you lose your voice in the process and maybe even get a good Instagram caption to use too. Now pick your girlfriends up and get the aux chord ready, cuz you need to have a girls night ASAP!
